Job Description:

An Oil and gas company located in the Houston area is seeking a Crude Oil Accountant to add to their team.

In this position you will be responsible for To apply for this position you MUST have your Bachelors Degree in ACCOUNTING. Any other majors need not apply. This position is for a small oil and gas company and they are looking for someone specificly with no more than 5 years of experience. Please do not apply if you do not meet these requirements!

POSITION SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to ensure proper volume and pricing for crude oil received from supplier, to reconcile volumes shipped and purchased through third party pipelines, and to perform monthly reconciliations with supplier of actual volumes and pricing to provisional volumes and pricing.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS •Bachelors Degree in Accounting EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS •3-5 years accounting experience
•Crude oil purchasing, refining, or energy industry experience
•Crude oil or refined products inventory reconciliation experience
•Good knowledge of GAAP
•Strong analytical skills
•Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing projects
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Intermediate to expert Excel spreadsheet skills
•Experience with pipeline tariffs and tariff issues a plus

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES


•Accurate volume and price calculations of crude oil purchased through a third party intermediation system
•Accurate volume and price calculations for daily provisional payments
•Inventory transactions and reconciliations, and general accounting duties for bulk crude oil purchases
•Record and track the ancillary costs related to crude oil purchases
•Verify pipeline statements and invoices, including fees from various states and entities
•Reconcile and maintain the crude oil inventories purchased in the intermediation agreement
•Reconcile daily and monthly provisional payments from third party partner
•Prepare monthly journal entries to record financial transactions related to crude oil purchases
•Validate and confirm accounting data ties to the scheduling and contract information in our Allegro business information system

•Sugar Land location
•Hours: 8 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday
•Very limited overtime
•No parking fees
